Who Is Phillip Phillips’ Girlfriend, Hannah Blackwell?

Since winning American Idol last week, we’ve learned a lot about Phillip Phillips, including the identity of his much speculated-about girlfriend. The Georgia-bred rocker has opened up about lady love Hannah Blackwell in recent interviews, even saying that he hopes she comes on the summer Idol tour with him.

So who exactly is Hannah, besides being the envy of P2 fangirls worldwide? According to her Twitter, where she fields questions daily from curious Idol fans, she’s a nursing student who also nannies for four kids. She and Phillip met while volunteering at a women and children’s shelter, and the two have been an item for three years now. “He was a little more nervous asking for our 1st date ha,” she tweeted last month. “We were so awkward!”

Back home in Leesburg, Hannah has three dogs (a lab, a West Highland Terrier, and an English Cocker Spaniel) and is the proud owner of two Arabian horses, one of which is just a foal. Although she’s not a musician herself, she’s written one song with Phillip and sings with him occasionally for fun.

When fans asked if she’s taken aback by the attention her boyfriend receives, Hannah simply replied, “I understand it’s part of the game.” Her support for her talented beau is undeniable (she’s called him a “phenom”) and she’s been present at most of the Idol performances, even making friends with contestants Heejun Han, Colton Dixon, and Joshua Ledet. She also cites “Volcano” and “Movin’ Out” as her favorite Phillip performances.

Speaking of moving, Hannah recently shared that she’s “working thru [sic]” plans to stay in L.A., which is where Phillip has been spending most of his time recently.
